This week, I share with you more summer wonders on Silver Lake! The enchanting Great Egrets congregate just before dusk along the small island. I quietly approached the offspring congregation from the kayak. The adults are larger and stay up in the trees, looking down and protecting the youngsters. They are stark white and have super wide wing spans, making it easy to spot them even from the kitchen window.
